Returning an item is simple. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to return your order, including options for online and in-store returns, and information on return fees.

1. Returning Online Purchases

To return an item purchased online, please follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Prepare the Item for Return
    Ensure the item is in its original packaging, unused, and in saleable condition. All tags should be intact, and the item should be packed securely.

  • Step 2: Complete the Returns Form
    Include the completed Returns Form provided with your order, specifying the reason for the return.

  • Step 3: Choose Your Return Method
    We offer preferential return rates for customers within the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. You can choose to use these services or arrange your own return shipping.

    • Republic of Ireland (An Post): Returns via An Post cost €4.95, whether you drop off the parcel or schedule a pick-up. Visit An Post Returns to generate a return label or arrange a collection.
    • Northern Ireland (DPD): Returns via DPD cost £4.95. This service requires you to drop off the parcel at a DPD location, as pick-up is not available. Visit DPD Returns to create a return label.

    If you prefer not to use An Post or DPD, you may arrange your own return shipping. Please retain proof of postage and tracking details, as you are responsible for the return until it is received.

  • Step 4: Receive Refund Confirmation
    Once we receive and process your return, we will send you a confirmation email, and the refund will be issued to your original payment method. Please allow up to 14 days for processing after we receive your item.

2. Returning In-Store Purchases

For items purchased in-store, follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Return to Any Brown Thomas Store
    Bring the item you wish to return along with your original receipt to any Brown Thomas store. The item should be in its original packaging, unused, and in saleable condition.

  • Step 2: Processing Your Refund
    In-store returns are typically processed immediately, with the refund issued to your original payment method. Please allow 3-5 business days for the refunded amount to appear on your card statement, depending on your bank’s processing time.

3. Important Notes

  • Promotional Items: If your order included promotional items or gifts, all items must be returned to qualify for a full refund. Otherwise, the value of the gift may be deducted from the refund.
  • Loyalty Points and Gift Cards: Refunds for purchases made with loyalty points or gift cards will be credited back to the original source. If you no longer have the original gift card, please contact Customer Service to have a new one reissued.
  • Non-Returnable Items: Some items are non-returnable and therefore ineligible for a refund. Please refer to our Returns & Exchanges Policy for a complete list of non-returnable items.
