How do I return an online order?

f you've changed your mind or something isn’t quite right, you can return most online purchases within 21 days of receiving your order. Just make sure the item is in saleable condition and returned with your dispatch invoice or receipt. Follow the steps below based on your location.


Republic of Ireland

Option 1: Return via An Post

  1. Complete the returns form included in your parcel.

  2. Pack the item securely, ideally in the original packaging.

  3. Visit An Post Returns.

  4. Under the Retailer section, choose either:

    • ‘Brown Thomas’ for fashion, beauty, and general items, or

    • ‘Brown Thomas Electrical’ if returning electrical goods.

  5. Choose your preferred return method:

    • Drop-off: Print your own return label at home and bring your parcel to a local drop-off point.

    • Home collection: Schedule a collection and your An Post driver will bring the return label at the time of pickup.

  6. Keep proof of postage and tracking information.

  7. You’ll receive a confirmation email once your return is received and processed.

The €4.95 return fee is paid directly to An Post when booking. It is not charged by or deducted by Brown Thomas.


Option 2: Return to a Brown Thomas store

  • Return your item to any Brown Thomas store within 21 days of receiving it.

  • Bring your order confirmation email and dispatch invoice.

  • The item must be in a saleable condition.

  • Some brands and categories may be excluded — see exclusions below.


Northern Ireland

  1. Complete the returns form included with your order.

  2. Pack the item securely in the original packaging if possible.

  3. Visit DPD Returns.

  4. Choose ‘Brown Thomas’ or ‘Brown Thomas Electrical’, depending on the product you are returning.

  5. Print your return label and drop your parcel off at a local DPD drop-off location.

  6. Keep your return tracking details.

  7. You’ll receive a confirmation once your return is received and processed.

The €4.95 return fee is paid directly to DPD and is not deducted from your refund.


Outside the Island of Ireland

If returning from outside the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland, you’ll need to arrange and cover return shipping yourself. Please use a tracked service and retain proof of postage.

  • Always retain original packaging until the return is fully processed.

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method once your return is processed.
