What happens if I used a gift card or loyalty points?
If you are asking “How will my refund be processed if I paid with a gift card or loyalty points?”, the refund is always returned to the same method of payment used at checkout. This ensures your balance is restored securely and accurately.
Refunds for gift card payments
If you used a Brown Thomas Gift Card for part or all of your purchase, the refunded amount will be credited back to the same card.
Please retain your Gift Card until your return is fully processed, as it will be required to access the refunded balance.
If the card has been lost, our Customer Service team may be able to reissue the balance once ownership is verified.
Refunds for loyalty point payments
If you used Encore Loyalty points, any refunded value will be credited back to your loyalty account.
Loyalty points are non-redeemable for cash.
You can check your updated balance in the Brown Thomas App, online in the “My Loyalty” section, or in-store at any till.
Split payment refunds
If you paid with a combination of card, gift card, and loyalty points, the refund will be split proportionally.
Card refunds are credited back to the same debit or credit card.
Gift card refunds return to the same or a replacement card.
Loyalty points return to your Encore account.
Important to know
Loyalty points recredited to your account will retain their original expiry date.
Replacement gift cards may require proof of purchase or ownership verification before being issued.
