How do I request a refund?

You can request a refund for eligible items purchased online or in-store, provided they meet the return criteria. This article explains how to prepare your return and ensure your refund is processed correctly.

Requesting a refund for an online purchase

  1. Prepare your item

    • Ensure the item is in its original packaging, unused, with all tags attached and in a saleable condition.

  2. Complete the returns form

    • Use the returns form included with your delivery. Indicate which item(s) you wish to return and the reason for the return.

  3. Return your item

    • You may return online orders by post or in-store:

      • By post: Visit An Post Returns or DPD Returns depending on your location.

      • In-store: Bring your dispatch invoice and order confirmation email to a Brown Thomas store (brand exclusions apply).

  4. Postage fees

    • Postal returns from the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland will incur a €4.95 fee, paid directly to the carrier. This amount is not deducted from your refund.

  5. Refund confirmation

    • Once your return is received and processed (within 14 days), we will send you a confirmation email. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.

Requesting a refund for an in-store purchase

  1. Return in person

    • Bring your item and the original receipt to any Brown Thomas store within the eligible time period:

      • Full-priced items: Refund available within 14 days of purchase.

      • Reduced-price items: Exchange only within 14 days; refunds not offered.

  2. Ensure item meets return requirements

    • The item must be unused, in its original packaging, with all tags attached and in a saleable condition.

  3. Refund processing

    • Refunds will be issued to your original payment method. Depending on your bank, it may take 3–5 business days to appear.
